Hi! I'm Ami.
In my work as a trauma-informed fitness coach and dance movement therapy practitioner, I welcome people with bodies of varied shapes and sizes to find restoration, reconnection, and revitalisation through intentional movement practices and guided routines. Both my training and my own life experiences have continually reminded me of the depth of connection between our bodies and minds. My work strives to reflect that sensitivity. My goal is to be your facilitator and companion as you begin to rewrite your relationship with your body, movement, and fitness into a more trusting and joy-filled story.

"The body, not the thinking brain, is where we experience most of our pain, pleasure, and joy, and where we process most of what happens to us. It is also where we do most of our healing, including our emotional and psychological healing. And it is where we experience resilience and a sense of flow."

What I Want My Clients To Know
If you've ever felt like you had to drag yourself to a workout or movement practice, because "how else will it get done?", I want you to know it doesn't have to be that way. Together, we can make room for you to have a new and empowering relationship with your body and fitness. One where:
You feel eager and look forward to having that hour to nourish your body instead of pushing it. You feel excited to engage in fitness as a process of taking care of your body. It makes you feel energised to spend your time this way.
You feel safe because you know you have a say in what's going to happen in the next hour. You know you can tell me what your body needs, and we will make sure we find a way to meet that need. We can stop if it doesn’t feel good, or try a different approach.
You are building a positive relationship with your body, able to appreciate the innumerable things your body does for you without you even noticing. You are learning to speak more kindly to your body and about your body. You recognise that shame isn't the only motivator you can access.
You are aware of your body. You are connected to the cues and feedback it's giving you. You can tell when your body needs to stop or how to make adjustments to support your body better. You understand which of your body's limits are negotiable and which aren't.
You feel equipped because you have learnt the fundamentals of how to move your body in safe and efficient ways, so that even when you try something new on your own, you know you will be able to navigate it with ease. You feel empowered with the knowledge and understanding of your own body.
You are actually getting stronger and seeing tangible results of your efforts based on how you feel in your body on a day-to-day basis. You are able to execute challenging physical tasks or movements with ease. You can trust yourself and your body better because there is more connection and communication between both.
